TherapyFlow is a clinical tool for making hand therapy more engaging, accessible, and quantifiable. It takes the common exercises prescribed to patients and gamifies them, in a way that is completely configurable by the therapist.
TherapyFlow utilizes the common rhythm-based game dynamic seen in popular VR games such as Beat Saber, Synth Riders, and OhShape. Unlike those games however, it is a tool built specifically for hand therapy.
TherapyFlow was built for the Oculus Quest platform and utilizes it’s new hand tracking feature. With no wires, no external computers, and no controllers, the barrier for entry is virtually gone. No experience or training is needed to slip the headset on and dive into a therapy session.
TherapyFlow was first created as a project for the Virtual Medicine Conference 2020 Virtual Hackathon. TherapyFlow took home two of the six awards given out - winning the sponsored prizes from Chariot Kids and XRHealth.
